About Us

Welcome to McNab Public School,  a caring place for students to learn and grow!

Our school, comprised of approximately 310 students with a dedicated staff of 32 members. We are located half way between Arnprior and Renfrew, Ontario at the eastern edge of the Renfrew County District School Board. Surrounded by vast farmland and forested areas, McNab Public School is a country school where students share their joy of outdoor learning. Our school community works diligently to create a safe and friendly learning environment. First opened in 1967, McNab Public School shares a rich history of family and proud Mustang heritage and traditions.

At McNab Public School, our school community is very important to us. Many school events host opportunities for students young and old to have fun together while working as a team. Our older students take pride in creating a wonderful school experience for the younger students. Staff take time to foster these relationships through many in school learning opportunities such as learning buddies, whole school play days, character building assemblies and of course our Holiday Concert. Students also enjoy the seasonal staff-student games to celebrate the end of each sporting season (Flag Football, Volleyball, Basketball, just to name a few)! We are very fortunate at McNab to have our own ice rink, maintained by the townships. Classes use the skating rink during winter months as part of their physical education classes and learn to skate. Again, older students support yournger students during skating.

Beyond the classroom, McNab Public School offers a wonderful selection of extracurricular opportunities for the students. These include:

  • Gardening Club
  • Chess Club
  • Yearbook
  • Student Leadership
  • Grade 7 & 8 Sports Teams
  • Cross Country Running  for Grades 6 to 8
